ANNUAL PUBLIC BUDGET HEARING
GARDEN TOWNSHIP
March 10,2026, 6pm
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that Garden Township of Delta County,
State of Michigan, will hold its yearly Budget Hearing on March 10, 2026
for Fiscal Year 2026/2027 immediately following the regular monthly
meeting at 6:00 p.m. at the Garden Township Hall, 6316 State St.,
Garden, Michigan. At such time in addition to other regular business and
revenues of the Township in accordance with the law, a budget covering
proposed expenditures and estimates may be submitted for
consideration. THE PROPERTY TAX MILLAGE RATE PROPOSED TO
BE LEVIED TO SUPPORT THE PROPOSED BUDGET WILL BE A
SUBJECT OF THESE HEARINGS. Copies of the budgets are available
at the office of the Township Clerk.

NOTICE OF GARDEN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF REVIEW
ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING
March 3, 2026, 10am
Garden Township (Delta County) Board of Review will be meeting on Tuesday
March 03/03/2026 at 10:00 a.m. (approximately 45 minutes – 1 hour) for the Organizational Meeting. No Assessment Appeals can be heard at the Organizational meeting.
NOTICE OF GARDEN TOWNSHIP BOARD OF REVIEW
ASSESSMENT APPEALS MEETINGS
March 11, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Garden Township (Delta County) Board of Review will be meeting to hear
Property Tax Assessed Value Appeals. Poverty Exemption Applications and
100% Disabled Veteran Exemptions that have previously been submitted to the
Assessor’s Office will also be processed.
Day: Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Day: Friday, March 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
MEETINGS WILL BE HELD IN THE GARDEN TOWNSHIP TOWN HALL.

unable to appear in person. All written appeals should be received by the
Assessor’s Office no later than Friday March 10 th.
Public notice regarding any changes to these scheduled meetings or any

Garden Township PROPERTY TAXES ARE DUE February 17, 2026 by 5pm.
Any payments received after this date will be considered late and have additional interest and
fees applied.
THE LAST DAY TO PAY YOUR (LATE) PROPERTY TAXES TO THE GARDEN TOWNSHIP TREASURER
will be March 2 nd . Any payments not received by 5pm on March 2 nd will be considered
delinquent and will have to be settled with the Delta County Treasurer.
The Garden Township Treasurer will be in the office
from 9am – 5pm on March 2 nd , 2026 for the purpose of
receiving property taxes. Pursuant to mcl 211.44, 2.b.

Legal Dates/times for Treasurer to be in Office - In compliance with Michigan
compiled laws 211-44(2)(b), the treasurer (or their designee) must be in his or her office from 9:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m. on the last day before taxes are due and payable before being returned as delinquent (the
last day in February); at least one business day between December 25th and December 31st; and for the
collection of summer taxes, the last day taxes are due and payable before interest is added (September
14th).
The last day to pay winter taxes without incurring interest or late penalty is February 14th – Treasurer
MAY choose to hold office hours, but it is not required.
All taxes must be received on the day they are due by 5:00pm.
Taxes may be paid in person to the treasurer at the office, placed in the drop box located to the right of
the main entrance of the main door to the Township Hall, or sent in the mail.
Post mark dates will NOT be honored, taxes must be RECEIVED by the due date.
Underpayments – Tax payers are responsible for sending the accurate amount, the treasurer
shall not be responsible for contacting tax payers with notice of underpayments.
Overpayments of $5.00 or more shall be reimbursed to the tax payer via check in the mail. Any
overpayments of less than $5.00 shall not be refunded.
Bounced Checksshall be subject to a $50.00 fee from the township, PLUS all associated fees
charged to the township by the bank, including potential overdraft fees.
Receiptsshall not be sent via mail unless the tax payer provides a self-addressed envelope along
with the appropriate postage.
The above Tax Collection Policy was approved by the Garden Township Board at a
regular meeting held on June 13, 2023.
